Pantry Challenge Day 2

So, we are experimenting with using up what we have in the pantry and fridge instead of running to the store.  Technically, I didn’t do Day 2 consecutively with Day 1, as we had Shabbos in between with one meal in and one meal out, but here you go:

  • onion soup-onions, garlic, salt, water, balsamic vinegar (experimenting, as I didn’t have soy sauce)
  • green olive salad-can of green olives, mayo, and garlic
  • buckwheat tuna pilaf-buckwheat, can of tuna, 2 eggs, sunflower kernels, seasonings
  • veggie omelette-scrambled eggs with sauteed mushrooms, tomatoes, and red pepper
  • rice
  • pureed rice
  • avocado pudding-avocado, date paste, ground flax seeds, cocoa powder, water
  • banana pudding-banana, date paste, ground flax seeds, cocoa powder, water
  • popcorn.  I buy popcorn kernels and make them on the stove top with oil and then salt to taste
  • carrot muffins—made previously and pulled them out of the freezer

For the buckwheat tuna pilaf, I have one child who liked eating it with chummus, and two who liked it with ketchup.

That’s all for the kitchen for today.  In regards to de-cluttering, today I set aside to give away a pair of too small shoes and a pair of rain boots from my older daughter that I don’t want to store for three years that her younger sister may not even care for.  My philosophy, bless someone else with it as well as free up your storage space.  Decluttering can be done with an item here or there a day.  As Flylady says, “Babysteps”.

Thanks for reading.
