From the Perspective of a Key

Hi.  I’m a Key Ring.  I serve a very important purpose in your life.  I open the doors to your home, your car, your office.  I may even hold those little plastic tags for your library card or store discount cards.I’m a big part of your daily functioning.

However, I am sad.  Very very sad.  Some of you just toss me aside.  Then you forget where I am.  I am lost.  I am homeless.  I am MIA.  Then when you want me, I can’t call out to you and yell “Here I am!  I’m under the pile of bills on the dining room table or stuck between the couch cushions or mixed up with the toddler toys!”  I am so powerless to help you.  You are distressed and I am distressed.  You can’t call me and I ring, like a phone.  It is a problem.

But…there is hope!!!  If you give me a home and always always return me to my home, then I will be there for you.  I am your ever faithful and trustworthy key.  Then we will both be happy.  Some of my peeps live on a key ring holder on the wall near the door.  Some of them are hooked to a key hook in a bag.  Some have a special place on the counter or piece of furniture.

So, just please please find me a home and return me there after each use.  My buddies Cell Phone and Sun Glasses also beg you to do the same with them.  They hate being lost and homeless, too.

Thank you,

Your Key Ring
